DINOSAUR won the BAFTA Scotland for Writing (Film and Television) in November 2024, as well as the Audience Award. It was nominated for 5 awards in all, including Television Scripted, Director Fiction and Actress Television. It won the RTS Scotland award for Best Comedy, and has been nominated for an RTS award for Best Writer, The Broadcast Awards for Best Comedy Series, Edinburgh TV award for Best Comedy Series and the BANFF Rockie Awards for Best Comedy Series.
Matilda wrote the original pilot of the show which was shot and transmitted in 2021 for BBC3.
Matilda studied English at Oxford. She is a graduate of the Soho Theatre Writer’s Lab and the Dramatic Writing short course at RADA, and took her one-woman play Somebody to the Edinburgh Fringe. She has been in writer’s rooms for Channel 4 and Netflix. She is open to anything but gets particularly excited about offbeat stories with humour, empathy and heart.
Matilda is passionate about helping young people to read and express themselves better in written language. She works with children of all ages and levels on their Creative Writing and general understanding of literature, including refugees and asylum seekers learning English as a Foreign Language. She volunteers with West London Welcome teaching English.
